What if you only did 50% damage when you carry that rune? That stops it being an instant death rune, but still gives the user a fun and fair advantage.

Yes and it's especially bad for lagging players too.

I like it since it balances out people who have runes that are hard to kill (especially blink and resist) To be honest I think resistance is one of the hardest to beat. If a good player keeps that rune-- they can rack up 25 frags before dying once.

If I know somebody has that-- I'll do my absolute hardest to find Beserk or Telefrag/Deflect. Yes those are hard to kill otherwise as well!
