You can now generate the map-auto.qc file online. This file is needed in order to run custom maps on a Rune Quake server. Simply enter the names of the maps you want to add and click the Generate button.

http://www.runequake.com/maps/script/

If your version isn't listed in the drop-down menu, select the next highest version that is lower than your current version. For example, if you're using version 1.4, select version 1.3.72.

Very cool! Question though. Why have it so "map names
over 8 characters will cause the script to fail"? Wouldn't 12 characters be a safer precaution?

Very nice.

Eliminates a major headache for those of us not used to the process.

I have cygwin and/or maybe some other app installed on my computer I use once only every 2 years or so, and the problem I always run into is it takes about 1 hour to remember exactly what I had to do to get it work.

very nice indeed!

however..

the online script seems to be limited to about 75 maps total.. which renders it useless for me :?

(i wanna be able to max out runequakes custom map support :D)

would be nice the online-script was extended to support more maps and it should tell the user what the limit is (to avoid frustration ;))

cheers anyways for a nice tool :D

The script now supports 1.3 and 1.3.72 via dropdown menu.

Updated the online maps script. The update reflects changes made in version 1.4.17 and will work with future versions.

Updated the online maps script. I removed 1.4.17 as an option because it was buggy and replaced it with 1.4.20.
