I was playing some games tonight and got the usual bot/hack/whatever accusation, but what was different tonight is that IHATEHUMANS (aka 68%) accused me of cheating.

I play as SNS Mr. Green and -- well -- I used to have a great deal of respect for IHATEHUMANS, someone who in the very early days of ProQuake cheat-free along with Toyo reaffirmed the fact that there were a lot of legitimate players even back in the dark days of cheating.

To IHATEHUMANS: My key setup is simple. In fact, my config is post here at this site and has scarcely changed in 4 years.

I use A = Hook, S = Rune use, Z = LEFT, X = BACK, C = RIGHT and I have CTRL = switch to RL, SHIFT = quick grenade and ALT rotates between LG, SNG and supershotgun.

Whenever I am attacked I intermittently tap the C key, which causes me to strafe RIGHT a little and I do this in the air too. In Quake, you can move left and right in the air.

I use ProQuake 3.50, the same you use.

The main difference between your play style and mine is that you do not strafe. I play rocket arena all the time and I play at the Rage Clan Arena server quite a bit.

Strafing is everything; I'm a pretty average player in skill level compared to the strongest players (Quazy, Frenzy, anyone that plays at CRMOD).

I press ALT to switch to LG. If I don't have LG, it switches to the SNG. If I don't have SNG, it switches to the supershot gun. I can press it again to rotate thru those 3 weapons.

So basically ALT switches to the best weapon I have that I can't kill myself with for hall fights.

that old buffoon lost his mind.

he used to beat me when i first started, then i got considerably better and whooped his ass every time... not that im taking pride in it or anything, but i just got better over time.

at first he seemed content with it, saying about me "girls that play quake good scare me" or something of the sort, which i was cool with...

but then things started getting ugly as he started calling me names and essentially a cheater every time i connect to the server or play.

and stressing what baker said, a player that DOES NOT strafe, can not have any expectations to be on par with a player that uses all that it's available to him/ her (strafing included).

just for fun, one day slug was whiping the server clean, (and slug does better then me) and i asked him if he thinks slug is cheating and why he isnt busting his balls instead of mine lol. of course he kept quiet.

then the other day he came up with another hoarde of shit, now that i was sporting the SNS clan tag, he was saying the SNS clan has an exclusive "cheat/hack". LOL, i mean wtf man, how sadder can u get LOL

i've said this earlier about IHH but i guess it didnt hit home till it happened to baker.

ihh we expect a public apology (here) or you permanently lost our respect in the community.

I have not seen an aim assist bot, ever. Maybe it does exist, but as far as I know, it's a "shmack loser created bot", meaning if they lose, there's just somebody using the "aim-assist bot".

Personally, the bot I use is called skill.
