I've chosen not to renew my contract for the dedicated server that hosts all of my game servers. Every year I spend less and less time thinking about them and I've finally decided to call it quits. The servers will go down on or about November 2, 2011. The website and forum will remain up for a while longer. Thanks everyone, it's been fun. |

All I can say is Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for all the years you have been hosting the servers and maintaining the Rune Quake code. Though I have not been able to play for a few years now I would always come by the web site when I have a free minute at work to read the posts and see what everyone is up to. Thank you for keeping the game going for so long. |

Slot thank you very much for the years of operating Shmack Rune Quake. Wish I could buy you a beer. I haven't played in a long while as I am in school and sometimes still play Quake 3. It will be fondly remembered as the place I first met Sarah WHO TURNED OUT TO BE A MAN. yeah how much are we talking to put up the server? shmack will live on....dont forget about the ra w/ runes and pmode!!!!!!! noooooooooooooooooo! thanks for all you did for quake slot, you and singed were easily the largest contributors to quake1 history imo. (frenzy and i just cant let royal lion off that easily obv.) |

For those of you who reached out via e-mail and on here, I pay $504 a year for a dedicated Linux server that hosts all of the game servers. I would be more than happy to keep the servers around for another year providing the ChipIn amount reaches its goal of $504. To make a donation, click the ChipIn button on the widget at the top right of the forum or click the link below to see my ChipIn page. Slot , I wanted to suggest adding a section to the Shmack and CRMOD server's MOTD , that mentions Server Cost + ChipIn donation? With mere word of mouth in a matter of days, a seriously chunk of change was raised. I was thinking that the MOTD could do what word of mouth did, except on a every day basis. |

Much to my complete amazement and within 24 hours of creating the ChipIn page, the goal has been met and the servers live for another year! After announcing I was shutting down the servers, I thought a few people would be disappointed and move on to other places but I didn't expect the level of support I received. Thanks to all of you who donated! While I didn't personally respond to each of you, please know I appreciate your support. In addition, thanks to all who planned on donating but didn't get a chance to because the goal was met within the blink of an eye. |

Really glad the donation drive worked so well. Rune Quake is always a good time. If only we could get more people to play I'm sure it'd catch on pretty quick. I'll see if I can get some friends to try it out. First I have to get quake working again though, so many different mods and things...getting Quake setup now is mighty complicated.
