Note, the hook and runes can be voted on or off. It's also nice that the Shmack RA server has support for +sattack6.

Don't forget to put QSECURITY.DLL in quake folder.

7) Outstanding 1 on 1 or team game server: quake.shmack.net:26002

IMHO, if there were just a couple more commands in RuneQuake, quake.shmack.net:26002 would in all ways be a better 1 on 1 server than any CRMOD server. The runes and hook can be voted away if needed, practice mode can be turned off.

If only there were a way to temporarily lock out other players just to get "peace of mind".

Random things:

a) Has the fix-angles problem ever been identified for switch rune and weirdness?

b) If RuneQuake had a vote-FourRunes (standard CTF runes) and vote-flag (turn CTF), it would be the be all and end all of Quake mods. It could be runes, vanilla DM, RA, essentially CRMOD and CTF at will.

c) Is it just me or does it seem impossible to manually select the map via commands on the Rocket Arena server.

d) vote-normal, when used to turn practice mode off, should probably zero out both players frags, weapons, armor, ammo. Is there a cirumstances where one would want to vote off practice mode but keep the 200 armor/100 health and all weapons?

e) can ports 26001 and ports 26002 be given subdomains? It is my understanding this is impossible, but it would be really cool if 26001 could be ra.shmack.net and 26002 could be something like dm.shmack.net (or something?)

f) Messagemode2 should probably be a vote-option

g) Some sort of frag limit toggle would be nice. Vote-fraglimit-toggle or something cycling between 10, 15, 21, 25, 30, 50 perhaps. Maybe even vote-time-limit cycling between 10 minutes, 15, 20, 30 and none!

h) Is there yet a way to make it so a game ends in team-mode when team X reaches the frag threshold, and not the player?

g) The magic shotgun, how much damage does it do? What is refire period, how much ammo does it use?

My use only for future reference: deathmarks, time, receipts, parsed output, gag-player

intresting questions you raise baker. first im pretty sure you can give the ports subdomains, as does the hdz server (dm.clanhdz.com, ca.clanhdz.com [two other good servers])

also you left out the ctf servers still up: quake.trinicom.com, quake.intertex.net,
a useful bind for trinicom i use is:
"alias +hook "impulse 98", "alias -hook "impulse 97", allows you to use your key for hook in runes/ihoc for ctf.

Slot, that one was my error. I had to have been doing something wrong on the server because it works fine now.

Actually, unfortunately, I think this is impossible (subdomaining a port). I checked Gameaholic.net and those ClanHDZ servers have different IP addresses. I think the Quake client has to know the port, therefore subdomaining a non-port 26000 is impossible.

The switch rune is fixed, but fix-angles is still required for weirdness.

I agree. I anticipate the only way for this to work right is to present a menu of time options to select from first, and then that selected item will be the one voted on. My thoughts are still on the back burner until I can get a few days to try out some ideas.

Yes. I attempted this once and was unpleased with the effeciency of the code so I put in the shelf until I can spend more time with it.
