OK I bound the keys like I talked about in my above post and it doesn't seem to be working.

When I hit HOME it says Record (DemoName)[(Map)(CD Track)]

And the reason I don't think it's recording anythign is because when I hit End it says "Not recording a demo"

Any help would be nice.

Newest qrack has a nice feature...if you set cl_autodemo 1 it will automatically record every game you play, and name each one according to map name and date. :D

That's nice if I had unlimited HD space.

Can someone help me control when and where I record demos on Rune Quake?

Which Quake client are you using? Older non Quakeworld clients can not record demos on the fly. Judging by the output, you have to start recording before entering a game.

I'm using ProQuake. But it sure would be nice to be able to start and stop them whenever.

You can record anytime in ProQuake/JoeQuake/QRack.

To start recording a demo, type: record mydemo

To stop the demo: stop

To play the demo: playdemo mydemo (or in JQ/QRack just use the demos menu).

ok. Thanks Baker. :)

Is there any way I can bind these commands to single keypresses? Such as Home and End?

bind home "record mydemo"
bind end "play mydemo"

But this will overwrite the demo everytime.

------------
JoeQuake: Typing "record' in the console without a demo name will automatically generate a demoname using the date and current map.

Haven't seen too many people at Shmack lately, maybe because i haven't been looking much. Though it seems like everytime i do get on i'm playing the same maps, over and over. Maybe it's just me. I do try and vote to a different map a lot, but it's hard to get people to vote with you sometimes.

Anyways, I really need some practice...so let's get on Shmack soon people =)

Use "playdemo" not "play". "Play" plays a Quake sound.

OK I recorded 2 demos of my weapons switching out. The first one I recorded at the Elder God Shrine. That was a good one. But of course I get some sort of 'Max" error when I goto play it.

My second demo seems to show 2 instances of my rockets switching out and it plays ok. Upon watchig it, its weird to me. When I have say 6 rockets and I fire its taking 2 or so away at a time at times.

OK where do I post this demo at?
