updated a small Qrack increment with a few clean ups but basically celshading has been added. Decals is in the source, but disabled at the moment until i can get it more stable.... http://www.quakeone.com/qrack |

What are cell shading and decals? Also what is the md3skin folder for in textures in QRack. I don't think I have any md3 models, I know the advantages and structure of md3 models, but am not sure what the folder is for. (Skins/textures for md3 models that I don't have, I assume). |

CelShading is a technique that normalizes the lightsource and averages the shading down to just a few levels. So, instead of a smooth surface shadow on the model it chops it up ie hard shadow and looks more like a paintbrush than an airbrush. Decals are oriented particles that land on a surface thus becoming a mark or blood stain. I have this working but its not stable. At times the game freezes. Plus the decals dont "wrap around" corners and stick out. The blood stains look cool... but not perfect so its disabled in 1.53 until i get it working right. I had the md3 models in the pak0 at onetime.. i should clearout that md3skin folder... and i think trinca requested this Quote: added commandline parameter "-refreshrate <hz>"
example: glQrack.exe -refreshrate 85 This will set the refreshrate to 85hz added vid_vsync <0/1> syncs the frame updates with the refresh rate or maximum throuput. default is ON. |

it crashes as soon as i start the game if command line parameter -mem is set to over 236. i use -mem 256( i got 768 mb ram). this didnt happen while it was still joequake pro( version 1.5). other than that, great improvments |

dont use the -mem command, its not needed. Qrack uses a virtual mem scheme. It will init only the amount of mem it needs, and will open more as it needs... |

Opps, guess i didnt add that to the pak file. coronas add lens flare like glows to wall torches. Truely was experimental and works fine. if you create a "coronas" folder in \qrack\textures and add these files to it there (u can create more if u like), and use gl_coronas 1 you will see how they look http://quakeone.com/qrack/corona0.tga http://quakeone.com/qrack/corona1.png |

i found a bug: if you try to set gl_coronas to a value of 0.x it crashes your Qrack |
